Le Bel Canto
A showcase website for a family pizzeria in Saint-Lô. The 110-dish menu reads in photos, and a search by ingredient helps guests choose in seconds.
The context
A family pizzeria on rue du Belle, well known locally but hard to find online.
The challenge
Make people hungry, show a long menu without losing the visitor, and get tables booked by phone.
My role
- Interface and mood design: dark background, the house gold, a thin Italian line.
- HTML, CSS and JavaScript build, with a search by ingredient.
- Full English translation, dish names included.
- Local SEO, Google Search Console, Bing and Lighthouse quality checks.

Mood first
The dining room is warm and softly lit. I kept that mood: a dark background, the house gold and a thin green, white and red line.

A long menu, made simple
110 items is a lot on a phone. I added a search by ingredient that keeps only the dishes that contain it.

Two languages, two lights
Dark by default, light on demand and remembered. The English version translates the dish names too.

Quality and launch
Fonts hosted on the server, Google Maps loaded only on click, bilingual sitemap, Search Console and Bing. A “demo” banner stays visible.
Delivery Real Lighthouse scores and the list of what was delivered.
A demo, not a commission
I made this site to show my work to the owner, who agreed to keep it online for a trial period and to have it shown here. It carries a “demo site” banner and will be removed on simple request.
